SPF J-Grade is a premium visual selection of Canadian dimension lumber.

J-Grade was developed in the early 1980s by Interior BC mills in response to the growing demand for higher-quality dimension lumber for 2×4 construction in Japan. A combination of quality, supply capacity, and competitive pricing supported the rapid growth of exports to Japan.

Today, SPF J-Grade remains one of the highest visual selections of SPF dimension lumber produced by Canadian mills.
